Wie k\u00f6nnen wir Gottes eschatologisches Handeln und Gottes eschatologischen Selbsterweis erfassen? Wie k\u00f6nnen wir die Kraft verstehen, die im kommenden Reich Gottes am Werk ist? Die Antwort vieler klassischer Theologien lautet: Wir m\u00fcssen uns an die Offenbarung Gottes im gekreuzigten und auferstandenen Christus halten. Doch der Machterweis Gottes in der Auferstehung des Gekreuzigten stellt die Suche nach theologischer Erkenntnis ebenfalls vor gro\u00dfe Schwierigkeiten. Und diese Schwierigkeiten scheinen unter den Bedingungen heutigen Realit\u00e4tsbewu\u00dftseins einfach un\u00fcberwindlich zu sein. Denn wir werden mit der besonderen Leibhaftigkeit des Auferstandenen konfrontiert. Gelangt mit dieser Konfrontation das Verstehen nicht an eine letzte Grenze?<\/p>\n<\/div>

The fifth Frederick Neumann Symposium has for its theme “Hope for the Kingdom and Responsibility for the World.” We are thus obliged to explore once again a nexus of issues which has already been considered many times over, and in a variety of forms. But in asking anew: What is the connection between hope for the reign of God and responsibility for this world?, we are supposed to take our orientation primarily from Mark 13, Romans 8 and Revelation 20 and 21. That is the hitch. Or should we say, that is the particular challenge?<\/p>\n<\/div>
