Mehlhausen, G\u00fctersloh: Kaiser, 1995, 468-485.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p>Da\u00df die sogenannte Volkskirche fest eingebunden ist in die pluralistische Kultur \u2013 das werden viele Menschen begr\u00fc\u00dfen, manche beklagen, aber nur wenige bestreiten.Wie auch andere Gro\u00dfkirchen der westlichen Welt hat die Volkskirche eine Form gefunden, die die ihr eigene \u00d6ffentlichkeit reibungsarm in die \u00fcbrigen \u00d6ffentlichkeiten der Gesellschaft einpa\u00dft. Diese Einpassung geht gegenw\u00e4rtig allerdings einher mit einem stetigen Resonanzverlust der Kirche. Sie geht einher mit ersichtlichen Schwierigkeiten, ein klares und zugleich realistisches Selbstverst\u00e4ndnis zu bewahren oder zu entwickeln. On Pluralism and the Promise of the Spirit\u201c, in: <em>Soundings<\/em> 78 (1995), 49-67.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><p>This note takes up a recent discussion that Frances Sch\u00fcssler Fiorenza and David Tracy have carried on with J\u00fcrgen Habermas, in which the North American theologians point out a lack of sensitivity in Habermas to religious and aesthetic symbol ics, and a resulting uncertainty about the actual cultural differences that are at work in pluralism.
